The purpose for this webpage is to educate the people in Georgia about their heritage. We want to share with everyone what we learned about the Native Americans in Georgia. Tribes like the Cherokee and Creek Indians are just some examples of what we found out about Indians. We want to help other students in Georgia learn about Georgia's history. As we are a group of mixed cultures we thought this subject would be a great opportunity to share this divers information. In our Georgia history class, we learned about all the tribes: Cherokee, Creek, Mississippian, etc. Native Americans have been through a lot; like being ruled by people from other countries, having their land taken, having their ancestors killed, forced to show non-natives the way to hunt and grow vegetables and fruit. We don't think that one holiday is not enough to recognize the Native Americans. The purpose of this webpage is to help other people learn about the history of Native Americans in Georgia.
