Summary of Among the Impostors

Everything had changed so quickly. His location, home, clothes…even his identity. Mr. Talbot had made sure that Luke would be safe at Hendricks School for Boys. But there was no way he could ensure his happiness.

Between yearning to read the note Mr. Talbot gave him just before abandoning Luke in the windowless school, and randomly following the erratic flow of boys into random class rooms, will Luke keep his identity hidden? After finding a door to the outside, Luke seemed to find a source of happiness, amid all the strangeness of his new life.

He went outside to plant a garden from seeds stolen from his half-cooked lunch food. It was something for him to do, a link to his former life. And then, one day, he found that his little garden had been trampled.  Who could have done it? He didn’t think that anyone in this school went outside.  He was angry, quite despondent, and he vowed to find who did it.

One night, he heard people walking through the halls. Thinking it must be the people who sabotaged his garden, Luke followed them. In doing so, Luke came closer and closer to uncovering the secret of Hendricks School for Boys.
