Among the Impostors Luke Garner: A third child smuggled to Hendricks School for Boys. Formerly lived with his mother, father, and two brothers, Mark and Matthew, on their farm. He was friends with Jen Talbot, who died in the rally against population laws. Luke is very quiet, and has never been away from home. When the government took the land around his family’s farm, his parents, who were afraid that he’d be discovered, shut him inside. Had a chance to go to the Rally with Jen, but decided not to go, and thus, survived. But he needed to get away from the farm: he was in danger. Therefore, Mr. Talbot, Jen’s father, got him a fake identity, and took him to Hendricks School for Boys.
Lee Grant: A legal, Baron child, killed in a skiing accident. Provides Luke with a fake identity.
Rolly Sturgeon: The boy who took Luke to his room in the beginning of the book.
Jackal Boy: (also know as Jason) one of Luke's roommates. He tortures Luke endlessly, right before bed.
Scott Renault: He helps Luke find his classes, acting as his friend. He’s a bit controlling, and very scheming.
Nina: A student at Harlow School for Girls. Friends with Scott.
Mr. Talbot: Jen’s father and a well-known government worker for the Population Police. Secretly, however, he is against them and their population laws. He’s very good at lying and manipulating people.
Mr. Hendricks: The owner of the school Luke is sent to.
Mr. Dirk: A teacher at Hendricks.
