As you know World War Two began in the 1940’s and ended around 1945. A lot of important things happened between those dates. In a world war it is hard to uncover everything that took place, especially when you were not there to document all the events. In order to show you what all happened we have put together a timeline of the most important dates and things that took place. There are a lot  of things that happened during WWII ,so bare with us if something that occurred is not on the timeline. Listed below is the timeline for the website.

1940

            Nazis invaded Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxemburg

May 12

            Germans cross French frontier

May 26 - June 3

            335,000 out of 400,000 Allied soldiers rescued from Belgium

June 10

            Italy declared war on France and Britain

June 22

            France and Germany sign at Compiegne

Nov. 14

            Nazis Bomb Coventry, England

April 17

            German launches attack in Balkans

April 27

            Nazi tanks enter Athens

            Remnants of British Army quit Greece

Dec. 7

            Japanese attacks on Pearl Harbor, Philippines, Guam forces U.S. into war
 Aug. 14

            FDR and Churchill agree on war aims

June 22

            Hitler attacks Russia

Dec. 11

            U.S. and Britain declare war on Japan

            German and Italy declare war on U.S.

            Congress declares war on those countries

Feb. 15

            British surrendered to Singapore to Japanese

 

April 9
