	In Gerogia the quail population has decreased  70% since 1960 because of loss from decent cover and thickets. Georgia and other states across the south are trying to restore the natural habitat of bobwhite quail. They are also trying to maintain bobwhite quail populations. The bobwhite quail nest May through October. The females usually lay 10 to 12 eggs.       Quail hunting usually starts in late November. When you do hunt quail, dogs make the hunt a lot easier by tracking, flushing, and retrieving the birds.Bobwhite quail are some of the best game birds to eat when fried.
