2.  When is the deadline for Team Registration? The deadline is October 31, 2008.

3.  When is the deadline for submitting my Project Implementation Plan?  The deadline is December 5, 2008.

4.  When is the deadline for submitting the Mid-Project Checklist? The deadline is January 30, 2009.

5.  When is the deadline for uploading the final project? The deadline is March 20, 2009, Noon, Eastern Standard Time.

6.  What if a member of my team drops out? Notify your regional ETC and submit a withdrawal form if requested. An alternate student can be considered. If a team falls below three members, the team faces disqualification.

7.  Can a student be on two different teams? No. He or she can only participate on one team; however, that team can produce either one Web project, one Movie project, or both.

8.  Does a coach have to attend the Technology Workshops with the team? Yes, it is necessary that you attend with your team; however, the technology workshops are optional.

9 Does a team have to attend a Technology Workshop if they don’t want to or they simply cannot? No. We advise all coaches and teams to take advantage of this training; however, it is not compulsory.

10.  When can my team start publishing? Publishing may begin at anytime after the Project Implementation Plan (Proposal) has been submitted and approved and your team is issued a username and password to publish to the Georgia ETC PBL site. However, it is strongly recommended that publishing only begins after the research process has been completed.

11. How extensive should the academic standards be regarding the content of the Web-based project? It is imperative that only relevant GPS or QCCs are referenced. The standards that are listed in your proposal or final project are to reflect those objectives that the Web project addresses i.e. what will the learner, or visitor learn by using the Web site. Additionally, you may wish to include the standards that your students, the creators of the site, addressed as they completed the project. There is no set limit to the number of standards that have to be listed for the Web projects; however, no more than 3 standards should be listed on the movie projects.

12. How long will the Web projects be hosted on the Georgia ETC PBL server? It is the intention that all projects published to the Georgia ETC PBL server will remain until the beginning of the next year's competition. At that time, only the regional and state winners should plan on remaining on the statewide server. Registered Coaches will be notified via their primary email address if hosting is no longer available.

13. Am I required to use Microsoft Movie Maker software to develop my movie project? No, it is not a requirement--just a suggestion. You can use other appropriate software. The movie policy states: "The Movie Academy will accept movies developed by students using common software applications and hardware platforms. All video projects MUST be able to be viewed in the most current version of QuickTime or Windows MediaPlayer."

14.  Who do I contact if I have more questions? Your participating regional Educational Technology Center: ASU |CFRESA | First District | HGRESA | NSC | W.GaRESA | VSU
