The eighties was an amazing decade! There was a tremendous change in fashion from the seventies to the eighties. Some fashions of the eighties for girls were Keds without socks, Egyptian Sandals, shoulder pads, button-down shirts with large belts, and running suits. Boys' fashions in the eighties were Nike and Adidas shoes, running suits, and tube socks. In this decade the only people to wear designer brands were top celebrities. These styles were memorable! Some accessories in the eighties were worn by both boys and girls. These include Kickers shoes, and also very colorful clothing. Most any kind of jean was in as long as they weren't flared. In fact, the straighter the pants were, the better. Jeans were often so tight at the ankles that wearing any sort of boot under them was tricky. There were many different types of jeans in the eighties including, drainpipe jeans, straight jeans, paint-splattered pants, jeans with sparkly bits, and stonewashed jeans.
Also many women wore leg warmers on the chilly days of the year. They would pair them with a skirt. You could even put them over your fishnets, and you would have yourself an outfit that will turn heads. A closet full of '80s clothing just wouldn't be complete without a pair of Chucks (Converse high tops). These versatile kicks look great with just about everything and they come in every color under the rainbow.
Floral Prints Button-down shirts, skirts and dresses in floral patterns were a must have as long as you didn't over do it. One floral dress and/or shirt would be good for the season. Black and white was all the rage, especially stripes. So as you can see this was a very exciting decade, one that most will never forget.
